Hi Dick, I live in East Dorset and work on a Tree Sparrow recovery project in nearby SW Wilts. Like you I have put up many nest boxes (over 200 now) along with supplementary feeding in the winter months. I started the project in 2016 by inheriting an old project run by the RSPB in the 90's - I even managed to re-use some of their original nest boxes! This year has not been great as we estimate we are down 30% in breeding pairs compared to last year, maybe as a result of the very wet winter. We now have around 100 breeding pairs spread over 10 farms - some owned by the National Trust.
